Faribault’s Future Program
Faribault’s Future is a comprehensive leadership training program developed and presented by area leaders in association with the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. The three components of this program are leadership education, community awareness, and team building.
The program commences in September with a retreat at the River Bend Nature Center and continues with eight full-day class sessions and a mid-session overnight retreat. Each session features presentations by acknowledged leaders and experts in specific fields, as well as group discussions and on-site exposure and experiences.
Turn Leadership Knowledge Into Practical Action
Through presentations, hands-on experience, assessment tools, tours and publications, the Leadership program will help participants turn knowledge into action.
*The community-based focus makes every class meaningful and relevant to attendees. Simply put—we build community leaders.
*Its comprehensive format of one or two-day sessions spread over the course of ten months makes it possible for participants to apply what they learn, then follow up on a regular basis for continuity and reinforcement. Class members establish leadership skills in this program more effectively than in one-time seminars or workshops.
*The group size is limited to allow for small group interaction and learning.
*Participants gain a sophisticated understanding of leadership issues related to
Self: defining one’s leadership style
Team: building effective teams
Community: understanding local government, volunteerism, and networking
Who Should Participate?
We invite anyone who is interested in developing a stronger sense of leadership to participate. This program is valuable for those striving to improve and acquire new leadership perspectives and competencies, looking to broaden the definition of their jobs and responsibilities, or wanting to be of more value to their organization and community.
