Message for 2006

Dear Chamber Members,

Join me in toasting the new chamber. As we take a moment to look back over the past year and forward to the new year, we have a lot to toast. The chamber is entering its new expanded building, we continue to increase benefits to our members and our small town pride grows and grows. Our first order of business is to express our appreciation to all of our members who have or will contribute to our new building including the in-kind contributions from the contractors. A special thanks to the State Bank of Faribault and the Carlander family for their generosity. The new Carlander Conference Room will be a great asset to our members and the Faribault Community.
I am looking forward to working on a certification program called "Mark of Excellence". That work will allow us to assess our opportunities and strengths. Many of our members will be involved in the assessment process. I'll be eager to share the results with you.
As I step into my new role as chair of the chamber board I am both excited and a little scared. I was born, raised and attended high school here. I also have had an opportunity to live other places including Santa Barbara and Albuquerque. When my husband and I decided to raise a family we came back. I have a strong belief in the chamber and a strong loyalty to Faribault. My mother was a member of this chamber almost 40 years ago. Our chamber is responsive to the needs of our members and offers programs and services that make a difference. We are also proud of our roles as advocates and in economic development. The greatest asset we have is you, our members. As we look forward to new opportunities, a new building, new growth, new programs and new ideas, we ask you to become involved.
