The Work of the Chamber is accomplished through the dedicated volunteerism of members working together on committees and task forces. All members are invited and encouraged to become more active in the chamber this year. The chamber relies on volunteers to accomplish the priorities established by the board. Many people contribute numerous hours for the betterment of the community through the chamber. the economic vitality of the area through promotions, special events
and the attraction of tourists.
2007 Priorities
Business Development
Building on the existing programs and considering new initiatives, the board is dedicated to improved benefits for members, increased services for new business prospects and additional effort to recruiting targeted businesses. The outcome will be a systemic business development program involving business leaders.
Public Policy
The chamber board recognizes the member's high expectations for the chamber to provide business advocacy in legislative and local policy matters. Board members place high priority in addressing local issues and keeping members informed, while improving the internal process for issues endorsement or local position statements. The board will use the resources of the GROW surveys, member retention visits and other member contact to continue building the public policy agenda.
Community Leadership
In 2007 the chamber board will be working on new initiatives to engage community leaders and develop the leadership potential in more members. Working with the Blandin Community Leadership Program and the Faribault's Future Program will help to encourage and support emerging leaders to take leadership roles for the betterment of Faribault.
