“Made in Faribault” Day
Manufacturing Week in Minnesota – October 25
Presented by:
The Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and South Central College, Center for Business & Industry.
Manufacturing is a driver of the economy in our region. We want to increase awareness of the diverse manufacturing businesses in our area and showcase local products and companies to the community. Our goal is to promote the many
opportunities in our region. We have planned a three pronged approach.
- Plan to attend a Manufacturer’s luncheon at South Central College on October 25. Presenters will include representatives of DEED, MNScu and the MN Chamber, discussing the results of the workforce listening sessions held this spring and summer. Tickets are $15.00 each and available through the Chamber office, by phone (334-4381) or on line at www.faribaultmn.org in the calendar section.
- Tours are being offered that day, primarily for area High School students, to expose them to great careers in manufacturing. Members are also invited. There will be no charge for the tours, specific times are pending. Space is very limited. Check on-line or call for details.
- We are currently updating our Directory of Local
Manufacturing. By showcasing the variety of
manufacturing businesses in our area, we can raise
awareness of these companies, highlight the latest
technology used, excite young people about the career
opportunities, and educate them about the impact these businesses have on the economy of our community, our region, and our state. These Manufacturing directories are distributed to luncheon participants, local manufacturers and agencies including South Central College, Center for Business and Industry, the high school Career Resource Centers, City of Faribault, EDA, Rice County, Workforce Developmentand the Chamber office.
