City of Faribault Announces New Grant

The City of Faribault understands that the COVID-19 pandemic has had an immediate and detrimental impact on our small local businesses. In an effort to provide temporary relief, the City of Faribault has created the Small Business Relief Fund – funded through CARES Act dollars. This program is intended to provide one-time financial support to businesses experiencing financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and help these businesses survive the current economic crisis.
All eligible businesses are encouraged to review the Program Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions form to verify Program eligibility requirements. Businesses must have at least 1 employee in addition to the business owner(s). Businesses with 1-5 employees are eligible for $5,000 and businesses with 6-50 employees are eligible for $10,000. Employees can be full-time or part-time. In-home businesses are not eligible, except in-home daycares.
Applications can be submitted through the Program’s website. Awards will be considered first-come first serve basis during the application window of July 20 to August 3 at Noon. Final award decisions will be made by the City Council at their August 12 meeting – with award notices going out as soon as August 13.
