The 507 Connect hosted a spin on the classic pie eating contest at the Rice County Fair. Instead of who could eat the most or fastest, this contest was trivia based. Six people, including a Rice County Fair Ambassador, Sherriff Troy Dunn, Casie Steeves of the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, Faribault Public Schools Superintendent Todd Sesker, Misty Piller of Richie Eye Clinic, and Senator John Jasinski each had to put their knowledge of Rice County Fair Trivia on the line. Those who did not answer correctly, had to eat a piece of pie, with no silverware and no hands. The contest was narrowed down to two with Troy Dunn and Casie Steeves being the final two competitors, and when neither was able to correctly answer the tie breaking question, the winner was determined by speed eating a piece of pie. Troy Dunn ultimately took the victory.
