We are thrilled to introduce a new face at the front desk serving both the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce and the Faribault Foundation – please give a warm welcome to Shelby Mathews, our new Administrative Support Professional!

Shelby will be an integral part of both organizations. For the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce, which works tirelessly to strengthen and promote its members by fostering community alliances and advocating for business, making Faribault a vibrant place to visit, work, and live, Shelby will be providing key administrative support. The Chamber relies on the active involvement of its members to achieve its mission of being the effective voice of business in the community.

Shelby will also be supporting the Faribault Foundation, a community pillar established in 1999 to cultivate local philanthropy and enhance the quality of life in the greater Faribault area. The Foundation acts as a conduit for charitable giving, enabling individuals and organizations to support the community’s evolving needs and exciting projects, ensuring a strong future for Faribault.

A Faribault/Northfield native, Shelby was raised by her parents, Mark and Joy Mathews, alongside her sister, Makenzie. After earning her Cosmetology License and gaining experience in the salon industry, she transitioned into administrative roles. Shelby deepened her connection to Faribault in 2022 when she bought her first home here and has since enjoyed the rewarding process of renovating it. Outside of work, Shelby is passionate about all things DIY and crafting, and she loves spending quality time with her friends, family, and her two furry companions, Chicken and Waffles.

Shelby is genuinely excited to immerse herself in the Faribault community, learn the intricacies of both the Chamber and the Foundation, and build lasting connections with the many individuals and businesses that make this area so special.
